The Graduate Assistant will assist in all aspects of the Saint Leo University Recreation program with this 10-month position. Saint Leo Recreation includes the Aquatic Center, Fitness Center, Intramurals, Ropes Course, Lakefront, and Open Recreation.
The Graduate Assistant will assist the Saint Leo University Recreation program in the following tasks:
Assist with overall administration of all recreational programming.
Create promotional materials and assist in marketing through social media, recreation website and other interpersonal methods.
Help supervise, schedule and train student workers in all areas of Saint Leo Recreation.
Assist with memberships for the Aquatic Center and Fitness Center.
Attend all Recreation special events.
Aid in the creation of departmental policies and procedures.
Work Intramural events, Fitness Center and Aquatic Center shifts when needed
Ensure high standards of facility and program maintenance and cleanliness.
Work hours may vary; must be willing to work evening and weekends as needed
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
Experience and interest in recreation
Strong planning and organizational skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lift/move objects of 50 pounds or more
Maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
Must be willing to work nights and weekends
Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and must apply and be accepted to pursue a graduate degree from Saint Leo University
Have expertise and/or experience in one or more of the following areas:
Aquatic Center (certified life guard and/or WSI certification)
Persons with a strong desire to begin a career in a collegiate recreational setting are preferred.
