The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Coordinator, Intramural Sports and Sports Clubs. The Coordinator of Intramural Sports is directly responsible for departmental programming activities. The Coordinator is responsible for the development, delivery, and compliant operation of a comprehensive and diverse intramural sports program on the UNG-Gainesville campus. Facilitating a new Sport Club Program will be an additional expectation. The position reports to the Associate Director of Recreational Sports on the Gainesville Campus. This position will require working a flexible schedule, including some night and weekend work.
This Coordinator will:
Orchestrate a comprehensive Intramural Sports Program, including budgeting, organization, administration, and promotion
Lead and develop officials trainings, sports scheduling, game supervision, and the hiring and evaluation of student officials and supervisors
Assist with managing the Recreational Sports facilities and supervision of Student Workers including needs assessments and evaluations
Initiate and develop a new Sport Club Program, including budgeting, organization, administration, and promotion
Assist with events such as Orientation, Weeks of Welcome, and cross-campus collaborations
Participate on divisional and university committees as assigned
Other duties as assigned
Experience in Intramural Sports and/or Sport Club organization and administration
Officiating experience and knowledge of sports rules
Strong communication and leadership skills
Motivation, enthusiasm, and attention to detail
Willingness to work in a fast paced team environment.
Bachelor’s degree required
Undergraduate experience in Intramural Sports and/or Sport Clubs. Minimum two (2) years officiating experience in flag football and basketball.
CPR & First Aid preferred; CPR & First Aid Instructor Certification preferred; Lifeguard Training Certification a plus; High School officiating experience preferred.
