Assists the Director and other Assistant Director in the administration and management of all Outdoor Pursuit Center (OPC) programs and operations (trips and workshops, KNH Courses, challenge course programs, climbing center, living learning communities and rental/retail area). This position serves to provide program staff management, facility coverage, and supervision of special events as needed.
Responsible for the management of the Climbing Center, programs and special events that includes the research, development, marketing, and coordination of climbing competitions, events, clinics and instruction.
Responsible for the management and administration of the Youth Climbing Team that includes research, development, budgeting, marketing, coordination, and leadership.
Responsible for instructing 6-8 Educational Leadership (EDL) and/or Kinesiology and Health (KNH) academic courses per year.
Prepares the annual budget for the Climbing Center and Youth Climbing Team, as well as assist the Director in the research, development, coordination and leadership of study-away and study-abroad programs (15-30 days). Responsible for the administration of designated trips including research, development, budgeting, marketing, coordinating and leadership.
Provides the Director with reports on program participation, activities, revenues, and expenses, and evaluates program data. Assists the Director in development of OPC strategic plans, goals and objectives, and program assessments.
Establish working relationships with individuals, agencies and groups that further enhance the Outdoor Pursuit Center (OPC) mission.
Responsible for the development of policies and procedures for OPC programs and services.
Assists with coverage of other OPC programs, special events and RSC facility coverage as needed.
Completes other duties as assigned
Experience with oversight and management of indoor climbing walls
2 – 3 years supervisory experience
Current Climbing Wall Instructor certification (or ability to be acquired within 30 days of hire)
Current Wilderness First Responder certification (WFR)
Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to be acquired within 30 days of hire);
Valid driver's license
Ability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally
Required to perform duties with limited supervision and will be required to make independent decisions.
