Farmingdale State College - Assistant Director of Campus Recreation
Farmingdale State College, a campus of the State University of New York, is a college of applied science and technology with an enrollment of more than 9,000 students. This is a full-time, 10 month, professional UUP position that reports to the Director of Campus Recreation. The Assistant Director is responsible for administering the Competitive Sports program, which includes Intramural Sports, Sport Clubs and Extramural Sports. This includes, but is not limited to: developing intramural sports events and schedules, hiring, supervising and developing student employees, supervising sport clubs to ensure compliance with university and national governing body policies and procedures, chaperoning students at extramural sports events, and making purchasing and budgeting decisions related to competitive sports. This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree. One year of professional experience, or two years of graduate assistant experience, administering a collegiate intramural sports or club sports program. American Heart or American Red Cross First Aid / CPR / AED certification or the ability to obtain in 30 days of being hired. Previous sports officiating experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in Recreation, Sports Management, Higher Education, or relevant field. Experience using IM Leagues. Experience working with student-athlete compliance. Additional Information: This is a full-time, 10 month position.
