Responsible for the administration, supervision and development of a comprehensive intramural program including team and individual sports activities.
Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, evaluate and perform payroll functions for approximately twelve student intramural supervisors and fifty student intramural officials.
Maintain intramural web site as a constant and accurate means of communication with the large numbers of intramural participants’ effectiveness.
Manage resources for the intramural program, including equipment purchase, fiscal management and facility scheduling.
Other duties as assigned. This is a 10-month position.
Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred) in Recreation, Sports Administration, Athletic/Recreation Administration, Physical Education and/or related field. A minimum of 2-years experience in managing a comprehensive intramural sports program.
1. Extensive knowledge of sports scheduling, including calculation of facility time and officiating budget requirements. 2. Knowledge of sports rules, facility and equipment needs for intramural sports. 3. Knowledge/skill in staff development, leadership development, mentoring of student employees. 4. Experience in facility management. 5. Working knowledge of various computer software needed to perform above (MS Office suite, especially Word and Excel, Web-based intramural program, university’s payroll system).
