The Coordinator of Fitness and Recreation is responsible for the overall supervision and operation of NEIT's new fitness center and recreational sports programming (intramurals).
Supervise 1-2 part-time fitness center staff members and student staff members, as well as any personal trainers, intramural officiates and group exercise instructors.
Coordinate the purchase, rental, inventory and maintenance of fitness center and recreational sports equipment as needed.
Create fitness, recreational and intramural programming in order to promote student participation and campus engagement. Oversee the operational budget for the fitness center and recreational sports. Complete reports regarding fitness and recreation participation by students and staff.
Bachelor's degree in sport and exercise science, physical education or related field required; master's degree in recreation/sports management or related field preferred. Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated fitness and recreation experience required, preferably in higher education. Familiarity with current trends and practices within the recreational sports profession expected. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to relate effectively with students required. Current first aid, AED and CPR certifications required.
