Administration of the intramural sports programs, including league and tournament scheduling, hiring and training of sports officials, marketing, player discipline, as well as hiring and scheduling student support staff.
Development of new intramural sports programs, with responsibilities that include: creating game rules, identifying equipment needs, organizing leagues and training new staff.
Develop and implement risk management strategies for the intramural sports programs.
Supervision of events, student staff and facilities related to the intramural sports programs.
Other responsibilities in the recreation department may include supervision of the student staff and program activities within the facility as assigned. Evening and Weekend work availability.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications: 1. A Bachelor’s Degree in a field relevant to the position (e.g., Kinesiology, Physical Education, or closely related field).* 2. Two (2) years (24 months) of experience in the promotion, design, development, and administration of recreational programs.*
3.Current Certification/Licensure, from a nationally recognized professional organization, requiring continuing education and/or ongoing documentation of proficiency in specialty area required of position such as CPR/AED.
*Note: An advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Science, or closely related field may substitute in meeting the qualifications in number 1 and count for one year of experience in number 2 above.
