The Coordinator of Competitive Sports is a key member in the overall growth of the Department of Campus Recreation and the Division of Student Affairs that promotes safety, quality and excellence. This role will assist in the operation and administration of a multi-faceted recreation program. Specifically working with the planning and assessment of the Sport Club Program, advising Sport Clubs and the Sport Club Council Advisory Board, and in the training and evaluation of student employees. The Coordinator also plans, assesses, and coordinates assigned Special Event and Intramural Sport programs and handles various administrative tasks.
Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred education, professional skills and experience:
Masters Degree preferred in Recreation, Physical Education, Sports Administration or related field
Graduate Assistant experience in collegiate recreation programming or 1-2 years recreation programming for a municipal recreation program and related experiences; student personnel supervision; and Officials training at the collegiate level as well as Sports officiating experience preferred
Certifications or licensure required to perform the essential functions of the position:
Special Certification Preferred (must be obtained within 6 months of employment) 1. Standard First Aid Certification 2. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/AED Certification 3. CPR/AED, First Aid Instructor Certification
