As an integral part of Wellness at ASU, the Facilities and Events Team provides state of the art facilities and services to members of the ASU community while embedding lifelong skills into our student employees. We do this by, providing a safe, inclusive and dynamic environment for all, assessing and responding to the needs of the user base, and supporting engagement for students to ultimately be better equipped to succeed in their academics, career and in their personal lives. Our student employees are given training and opportunities that allow for lifelong skills that reach far beyond their time at ASU.
The Program Coordinator of Facilities is primarily located at the Downtown Phoenix location of ASU; however, the successful candidate will serve as an integral member of the university level Facilities Team which aids in facility management as well as development of student employees at all locations. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to are listed below in Essential Duties.

Provide regular, coaching, training, evaluation and development opportunities for student staff members.
Assist student staff with facility, event and membership issues, customer complaints and policy education.
Develop policies and procedures as it related to facility management and employees.
Assist in preparing facility staff budgets.
Serve as local support for aquatics program.
Oversee Bike Co-Op including staff and operations.
Facilities Reservations & Special Events:
Assist with facility reservations associated with the SDFC that include ASU student organizations, ASU Departments, and surrounding communities.
Coordinate and manage special events to include set-up & tear-down arrangements, equipment needs and coordination with campus/community vendors.
Serve as a liaison between the SDFC and special event organizers.
Maintenance and Operations:
Develop and maintain a good rapport and communication with Facility Management/maintenance and custodial vendors.
Foster a collaborative relationship with the YMCA connected to the Downtown SDFC.
Initiate and provide follow up work orders as they pertain to maintenance of the SDFC.
Assist with developing, implementing and maintaining a facility equipment and maintenance budget.
Conduct regular facility safety audits.
Research, select and purchase facility and field maintenance equipment.
Manage member services functions as needed (i.e. locker rentals, equipment check-out)ticipate in outreach efforts promoting ASU traditions and institutional pride within Sun Devil Fitness and the ASU community.
Foster relationships with Collier’s Building Maintenance Staff and Olympus Custodial Staff

Job location is primarily at the Downtown Phoenix Campus; however the successful candidate may be required to travel to other ASU campuses to perform work.
Days and Schedule:
Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm; may include extended hours, some weekend and evening required.
Bachelor's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Six years of progressively responsible administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Evidence of a Master's degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, or related field
Experience supervising, training, developing and evaluating student employees
Demonstrated knowledge of recreational facility and programmatic risk management practices
Demonstrated knowledge of college/university fitness center programs or operations
Experience in budget preparation and forecasting
Evidence of effective written and verbal communication skills
Evidence of current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
Evidence of current American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid Instructor Certification
Work in a fast-paced environment.
Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
