Under the direction of the Member Services Manager, the Member Services Supervisor is responsible for program registration, point of sale functions, staffing, customer service and day-to-day operations at the Aztec Recreation Center, ARC Express, and Racquetball facilities. The Member Services Supervisor recruits, hires, schedules, trains and supervises a staff of approximately 70 part-time students, and must be committed to student development and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a diverse campus population.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensures the day-to-day operations of the Aztec Recreation Center, ARC Express, and Racquetball facilities are conducted in accordance with established service expectations and regulations.
Recruits, hires, trains, schedules, supervises, evaluates and develops a part time, student staff of 60-80 employees
Ensures accuracy of all member/participant registration activity.
Serves as professional staff on-duty for supervision of part-time staff, programs and facilities.
Ensures adequate supply of clean towels and laundry room is maintained at all times.
Assists with collections and daily cash deposits.
Assists with controlling unauthorized access into the facility from non-paying guests.
Makes operational changes as needed to enhance membership growth.
Recommends future revisions to policies, programs and facilities using member feedback.
Develops and maintains positive relations with all members, guests, and campus community.
Maintains working knowledge of all programs and services available within Aztec Recreation.
Other responsibilities include strategic planning, administrative and budget management, marketing, staff management, safety, facility management as well as customer service and collaboration.
Minimum Education, Experience & Certification
BA degree in related field. Related years of experience may substitute for education. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years supervision experience in a front line customer service environment. Facility operations experience. Demonstrated experience in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, motivating, and supervising large part time staff. College/University experience preferred. Prior sales and cash handling experience.
SCHEDULE & WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a regular, full-time position. Flexibility and willingness to work long and irregular hours and days, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed by event schedule. This position will work a minimum of one late evening a week.
