The Outdoor Program Assistant Coordinator will be primarily responsible for the day to day operation of the Outdoor Program Rental Center. Including: hiring and managing rental center employees, staff training and development, cash handling system and rental database maintenance, equipment maintenance, and pay roll. Candidates must have a strong interest in outdoor recreation. This position will have secondary responsibility to oversee the summer operation of the Outdoor Program Challenge Course including: hiring and managing Challenge Course employees, staff training and development, reservations and billing, equipment maintenance, and pay roll. The assistant coordinator oversees 15 hourly rental center technicians and 8 hourly challenge course facilitators. There is some crossover into the Adventure program for trip leading, and instruction. This is a 12 month position which reports to the Coordinator of the Outdoor Program.

Bachelor's degree in business management, recreation, or related field.
One (1) year experience in business management, preferably Outdoor Equipment Rental Center Operations, including experience in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and supervising staff. Must possess working experience in whitewater boating, and skiing. Two (2) year's experience in budget management. One (1) year minimum experience in customer service. Experience with outdoor recreation risk management.

Preferred Qualifications include: Masters degree in business management, recreation, or related field and 1 years professional experience. Prefer certified ski tech, AIARE Avalanche level 1 certification, AMGA Single pitch instructor. More than 2 years experience hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and supervising staff, budget management, and customer service.
Proven business management skills. Demonstrated commitment to student development in management practices and leadership. Experience coordinating and implementing special events. Experience in marketing, promotions, and communications. Ability to collaborate well with internal and external constituents.
