The Division of Student Affairs at Auburn University is seeking candidates for the position of Coordinator II, Personal Training in the Campus Recreation department. This position is responsible for assisting in overseeing the direction, development, and management of the Personal Training program for the Recreation and Wellness Center.
Essential functions include (but not limited to): Oversee and coordinate the conduct of a personal training program for the Recreation and Wellness Center.
Train and evaluate certified trainers ensuring that they meet accepted standards of practice requirements for personal training programs.
Evaluate fitness programs ensuring that client safety, proper exercise technique, and client satisfaction are being administered for each training program.
Develop a training methodology that provides all trainers with a template for designing fitness programs for students, faculty, and staff participants.
Schedule and assign personal training appointments for students, faculty, and staff members.
Develop and maintain an assessment program and training statistics tracking client satisfaction and participation rates in the personal training program.
Assist in planning, scheduling, and conducting fitness screenings and assessments and provide corrective exercise programming.
Entry into the applicant pool requires a Bachelors' degree from an accredited institution in Exercise Science, Health Promotions, or a relevant field; two (2) experience in developing fitness programs and training individuals. Knowledge of personal training programs, design, training, and instruction as well as recreation policy and procedures. Employer will consider advanced degrees in lieu of experience.

Knowledge of facility management software, such as Innosoft Fusion, scheduling software, such as Appointment Plus, and timekeeping software, such as Kronos.
Active personal trainer certification from nationally accredited organization; ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM.
Strong leadership and personnel development experience with an emphasis on student development.
Master's degree in Exercise Science or Kinesiology.
