The Facility Operations Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Student Recreation Center, facility scheduling and event management, risk management and security, and facility operations. Additionally, the Facility Operations Coordinator will supervise a Facility Supervisor Team of approximately 10 student employees and in conjunction with the Member Services Coordinator, assist and collaborate in the delivery of Recreation Center memberships, customer service, and student training and development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Student Recreation Center including student staff supervision and scheduling, facility scheduling and event management, locker room management, and equipment rental operations.
Coordinate hiring, training, and development of student staff members through detailed job orientations at the start of employment as well as through regular staff meetings and leadership opportunities.
Ensure the highest possible level of customer service in order to provide exceptional customer experiences.
Schedule and lead weekly training and development meetings for the Facility Supervisors and assist and support the Member Services Coordinator in monthly All Staff Meetings between Facility Supervisors and Facility Attendants.
Participate, lead, and coordinate Departmental initiatives and events including Fall Training, Get Rec’d, Fall and Spring Hiring Sessions, etc.
Serve as the main Campus Recreation contact for all incoming facility reservation requests for the Student Recreation Center, Aquatic Complex, Climbing Gym, Turf Fields, and Intramural Grass Fields.
Coordinate scheduling and equipment needs in all Campus Recreation facilities i.e. volleyball equipment, flag football equipment, badminton setup, audio/visual, etc.
Collaborate with all Campus Recreation program areas to ensure all scheduled facility reservations and events have been coordinated and communicated to the Program and appropriate closures have been communicated to patrons.
Update the Campus Recreation website on a regular basis to notify patrons of upcoming events, facility closures, holiday closures, etc.
Manage the retail operations and services at the equipment desk including all point-of-sale transactions, locker and towel service, and equipment rentals.
Assist in the daily management, operations, and troubleshooting of the Department’s Recreation Management Software.
Develop, coordinate, and lead risk management and safety trainings for Facility Supervisors and Facility Attendants.
Assist in the development, review, and revision of risk management policies and procedures.
Conduct facility inspections, risk management audits, and monitor facility usage and equipment inventory to minimize loss.
Monitor the equipment desk budget on a regular basis to ensure revenue and expense goals are being achieved as set forth by the Director of Campus Recreation.
Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of experience in a similar position.
One year of managerial experience with demonstrated skills in the work described above.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following areas:
Practical experience developing strong student employee teams focused on the customer experience.
Practical experience in health, fitness and recreation based facilities and/or programs.
Practical experience in facility operations, event management, and scheduling.
Practical experience in risk management.
Practical experience managing a student staff of 10+
Demonstrated expertise working collaboratively across multiple departments.
Experience scheduling and coordinating large scale events.
Experience working with a recreation based software application platform (Rec Trac, Fusion, CSI).
Certification as an American Red Cross CPR/AED/FA instructor.
