The Department of Recreation, Parks & Tourism Administration at California State University, Sacramento, is seeking applications for a probationary faculty appointment in the area of Recreation Therapy. This is a full-time tenure-track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank beginning with the fall 2018 semester. Priority Review of applications will begin October 20, 2017; position open until filled.
Education: Ph.D. (or comparable degree). At a minimum, an applicant must have at least one degree in Recreation (or equivalent) with an emphasis/concentration in Recreation Therapy. ABD candidates will be considered. If ABD, candidates will be required to complete the doctoral degree within two years of appointment. Certifications: Current CTRS is required.
Additional Requirements: A strong academic background in recreation therapy is required. Applicants must demonstrate teaching experience related to the subject matter. Applicants should demonstrate an ability to teach in the recreation core (which may include some but not necessarily all of the following: an introduction to the discipline, programming, management, administration, leadership, research methods, etc.). Applicants must show a willingness to work with diverse groups and a willingness to work with professional organizations in recreation therapy.
