The Coordinator of Intramural Sports will serve as the day to day point person coordinating the administrative duties of the Drexel Intramural Sports program which involves over 900 teams, over 8,000 students, & 40 student staff. This individual will be responsible for developing all facets of a comprehensive collegiate intramural sports program, including a diverse and dynamic calendar of activities that meet the needs and desires of the campus, as well as operational and staffing aspects of the program. The Coordinator is integral to enhancing the student staff experience through sports by providing proactive communication, on-site evaluation and development, and an overall first-class, professional presentation of Drexel Recreational Athletics.
Day to day management of Drexel Intramural Sports.
Assist in development, marketing and implementation of annual calendar of diverse intramural sports programming and services to provide to the Drexel community.
Recruit, interview and hire supervisors, officials and game staff.
Develop and implement detailed official's training program and evaluate officials on a weekly basis to ensure proper progression and development.
Conduct captains meetings before league play.
Serve as point of contact for Drexel Intramural Sports for all University offices, team captains, and participants.
Ensure proper enforcement of policy manual and event rules, including all forms, waivers & releases, score sheets, participation records, etc.
Ensure proper enforcement of standard operating procedures and risk management policies for the intramural sports programs.
Assist of development and execution of budget to meet equipment, operational and personnel needs of the intramural sports program.
Establish an inventory system for intramural and safety equipment and maintain accordingly.
Ensure appropriate staff trained in CPR and Emergency Action Planning and staff on site for all intramural activities.
Represent Drexel and serve as active committee professional in Philadelphia City 6 Extramural Sports Association.
Develop and complete Intramural Sports end of year annual report.
Establish working relationships and serve on committees with other campus entities (Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, Residential Living, etc.).
Any other duties as assigned, including the ability to work nights and weekends.
Bachelor's Degree in sport management, recreation administration, physical education, exercise science or related field.
Master's Degree in similar field preferred.
2+ years of professional experience in collegiate recreation setting, specifically program area of Intramural Sports required. Graduate Assistantships are acceptable for professional experience.
Sports officials certification for minimum of high school level in at least one of the following sports is preferred: basketball, football, flag football, soccer, volleyball.
The ability to work in a fast paced environment and proven success to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects/assignments.
