Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, supervise, and schedule all staff (a student staff of 40-60 per year) for the Outdoor Adventure program to include outing center staff, indoor climbing wall staff, Bike App staff, Clinic Leaders for Roll Clinics & StandUp Paddle Board, and student programmers. Develop, implement and oversee daily operations for Base Camp for Outdoor Adventure to include registration for indoor climbing, rental gear/equipment, trip registration, Wilderness Medical Course registration, etc. Hands on development and management of the Bike Hub for the campus. Serve as the point person for all marketing/ advertising for the Outdoor Adventure program to include Website, social media, etc. The development and implementation of ongoing inventory and maintenance repair for rental, climbing wall, and Bike equipment. Resolve conflicts and complaints from participants and employees. Promote positive personal and professional development of all student staff. Developing and maintaining a comprehensive statistical report for the Base Camp to include outing center, climbing wall, bike app, and summer camp. Direct recruitment, hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, evaluating, and overseeing student programmers, outing center staff, climbing wall staff, Bike App staff, and clinic staff for roll clinics, and StandUp. Working to serve as the point person for Outdoor Adventure working with the summer day camp program for children of the high country through the Assistant Director for Sports & Activities. This includes staff recruitment, hiring, training, evaluating, supervising and scheduling summer student counselors, programmers and professional staff. Serve as a team member to work with two addition coordinators (Challenge Course program coordinator and Trips program coordinator), and three Grad Assistants through the Outdoor Adventure program. As well as some 20+ staff throughout the University Recreation department.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Physical Education, or related field, and Wilderness first Responder Certification. RED Cross CPR/AED and First Aid Certification, and two years of experience working in a collegiate recreation program (Graduate experience will be considered). Successful candidate will have a strong background in Bike program and experience working/managing an indoor climbing wall. Must have strong written and communication skills, Experience working with and managing/mentoring student employees.

The Student Recreation Center (SRC):
The SRC includes a total square footage of approx. 125,000 sq. ft.. Features in the SRC include a smoothie bar, a 50 ft. climbing wall, a cardio room, a weight room area, an indoor walking/jogging track, a 50M swimming pool, UREC Central Offices, and the Outdoor Outing Center. Two gymnasiums used for Intramural activities, Club Sports, as well as Informal use (freeplay). The SRC opened in April 2006 and is home to Intramural Sports, Club Sports, Aquatics, Fitness, Outdoor Programs, and Informal Recreation.
