POSITION DESCRIPTION: Full-time professional exempt staff position with full benefits. The Manager of Pool Operations has major responsibility for managing water chemistry and maintenance of pool equipment for all University Recreation & Wellness aquatic facilities (3 pools). Specific responsibilities include: implementing scheduled procedures for water sanitation and pool equipment maintenance; performing preventative maintenance on pool equipment; hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising 30 student pool operators and student aqua techs; assisting with aquatic events; teaching assigned Kinesiology aquatic classes and Red Cross courses. Some evening and weekend work is required.
START DATE: January 2, 2018 preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have, as a minimum: a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience maintaining an aquatic facility; current NSPF Pool Operator Certification; current American Red Cross Lifeguard (LG) certification; strong communication and customer service skills; ability to work with minimal supervision and some weekend hours. Preferred: Current Prince George’s County (MD) Health Department Swimming Pool Operator’s license; current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification; experience teaching; some experience using scuba equipment and/or scuba certification.

Additional Salary Information: SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience, the range is $52,000-$58,000.
