The Assistant Director of Fitness Programs plans, organizes, and administers fitness programs including, but not limited to PantherFit group fitness classes, personal training and fitness-related special events.
Develops and coordinates fitness programs including group fitness classes, outreach events, certifications and orientations. Oversees the implementation of a comprehensive fitness program including fitness and nutrition assessments, educational workshops, and new user orientations.
Recruits, trains, supervises, and mentors of a diverse fitness staff including: Fitness Graduate Assistant, PantherFIT group fitness instructors and personal trainers.
Develops and implements risk management policies and procedures as they apply to fitness programs.
Oversees Personal Training programs, Lose It program, client management, and education programming.
Evaluates student outcomes and customer service.
Maintains statistical information on program participation and conducting regular program assessments.
Participates in the development and implementation of the Wellness & Recreation Center policies.
Assists in major fitness and equipment-related purchase decisions for the Wellness & Recreation Center.
Participates on University committees and/or with other departments to effectively promote Wellness & Recreation Center services and fitness.
Maintains confidentiality of records in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Master's Degree in relevant area of study is preferred.
