Registry of Collegiate Recreational Sports Professionals
Full-time professional exempt staff position with full benefits. The Associate Director for Programs has major responsibility for providing overall leadership and direction for University Recreation & Wellness programs, specifically Fitness & Wellness, Intramural Sports, Club Sports, and the Communications & Marketing function. Specific responsibilities include: Working with director and other associate directors to establish strategic priorities, determine direction and goals for the department, and set and revise policies; leading department long-term planning efforts; producing department annual report; supervising 4 full-time employees; providing oversight of fitness and sport programs, communications and marketing, and department wellness efforts; and serving as department equity officer. Some evening and weekend work is required.
Candidates must have, as a minimum: a master’s degree in Recreation, Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field; 8 years of full-time experience developing and administering collegiate or community recreation programs; knowledge of recreation program/event management, student development, risk management, and assessment; demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience; excellent writing skills; strong interpersonal and oral communication skills. Preferred: Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and web-based applications, some knowledge or experience with communications and marketing, Registry of Collegiate Recreational Sports Professionals (RCRSP) membership.
START DATE: May 15, 2018 (negotiable)
SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience, the range is $100,000-$112,500.
