This position is crucial to the successful operation of the shared-use Ramsey Student Center and satellite facilities, reports directly to the Assistant Director for Facilities, and works as an integral member of the Recreational Sports staff in pursuing the departmental vision and mission. The Coordinator assists in the recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, supervision and evaluation of two Graduate Assistants and all facility operations employees and supports programs sponsored by the Department of Recreational Sports, the College of Education and the UGA Athletic Association. This position also assists in the management of facility operations and provides evening and weekend facility support and event coordination, as needed.
- Excellent knowledge of facilities management and direct programming experience - Evidence of supervisory excellence including training staff in student learning and development - Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communications skills - Proven ability in developing effective working relationships with university students, faculty, staff, alumni, administrators and the community - Proven dynamic and innovative leadership in recreational sports with the ability to work successfully individually and as a member of a team - Experience in fiscal management, assessment and evaluations
A minimum of a bachelor's degree in recreation or a related field from an accredited college or university is required and two years of experience in assisting with the management and operations of university recreational sports facilities and directly supervising student employees.
Master's degree preferred.
Current American Red Cross certificates in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid.
Individual must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Driver's License.
