Under general supervision, the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation for Facilities manages the on-site supervisory functions for Campus Recreation's indoor and outdoor facilities. These facilities include the Blatt P.E. Center, Strom Thurmond Wellness and Fitness Center, tennis courts, playing fields, and challenge course/alpine tower.
This position supervises three facility coordinators and assists with supervising and developing over 200 student employees.
Management of the Campus Recreation master facility schedule.
Process all reservation requests to include academic, university organizations, and outside users.
Routinely check equipment inventories and initiate purchases following university procurement processes.
Assist with the direction of department policies for risk management, safety, and emergency response.
This position has been designated as essential personnel during inclement / hazardous weather and other emergencies. In addition, this position requires a variable work schedule.
The Assistant Director will report to the Associate Director of Campus Recreation, Facilities. The Assistant Director functions with a high degree of discretion, flexibility, initiative, adaptability, and self-motivation.
Master's degree in appropriate field with a minimum of one year of Recreation facility experience or a bachelor's with three years' experience.
Must have current CPR/AED/First Aid certification, and obtain instructor certification. Certified pool operator's license is required, but may be secured within 3 months of employment.
