This position is responsible for the supervision and management of the Aquatics program including: ensuring program quality, monitoring staff performance and customer service; recommending program enhancements to ensure that user needs are being met; supervising staff and ensuring appropriate staffing of pools and pool areas; reviewing and evaluating staff performance; planning, scheduling and facilitating safety training classes to include but not limited to: Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, Water Safety Instructor, and Lifeguarding Instructor; collaborating daily with the operation and scheduling of aquatic facilities managed by SCOC, DHRE, and HHP; coordinating with University of Florida student, department, and community organizations for use of aquatic facilities and programs; interacting with the Physical Plant Dept. involving aquatic facility maintenance; responsible for the financial aspects of aquatics, including inventory, purchasing, budgeting, and budget review; providing feedback to supervisor regarding the safety and/or condition of programs, equipment, and facilities; conducting daily observations on use of said equipment and facilities; documenting and addressing all safety concerns; serving as part of the department's safety risk management team; serve on UF, division, or department committees; and represent RecSports at state and national associations.
