35% Sport Club Operations:
Direct supervision of club officers and members; Training & development of sport club officers; leadership meetings, transition meetings, and coach/instructor orientations; Oversight of day-to-day advising and club officer training; Development and maintenance of accurate contact records; Coordinate and work directly with Sport Club Advisory Council; Assist in the enforcement of administrative and operational policies and procedures; Assist with the club accountability process; Knowledge of Sport Club National Governing Bodies; Secure all facilities for programming; Oversee program assessment efforts.
25% Camp Program Operations:
Oversight of the camp registration process; Development and implementation of camp schedule and curriculum; Coordinate, establish, and recommend for approval all the fees pertaining to Camp participation; Prepare, submit for approval, and monitor operational budget; Coordinate and oversee all risk management procedures; Oversee program assessment efforts.
20% Personnel & Fiscal Management:
Directly supervise and administer extensive training and in-service meetings for all Tiger's Den staff; Supervise and advise sport clubs officers and their members about compliance with program, departmental, university, and national guidelines; Coordinate trainings & meetings for officers, participants, and volunteer coaches/instructors; Assist in the training of sport supervisors for sport club responsibilities; Coordinate all equipment purchases, maintenance, and inventory related to sport clubs; Project annual operating budget for sport club programming and camp operations; Maintain accurate fiscal records of all club reimbursements and awards received from PSIF and ORF; Track all personnel expenses related to sport club and summer camp operations; Maintain accurate records of Camp revenue and expenses.
20% Program & Professional Involvement:
Provide feedback regarding departmental programs, equipment, and operations by conducting daily observations/engaging in programs and using equipment/facilities; Immediately report safety concerns to the functional area supervisor; Be active professionally through research, publications, presentations, speaking engagements, and involvement in professional associations; Represent University Recreation for various University/community functions, committee work, and other duties as assigned; Contribute positively to the work environment by participating in honest dialog that is indicative of the department’s culture of teamwork; Willingly shares all information with department teammates in an effort to provide high quality outcomes that contribute to student success; Maintains positive co-worker relationships and fosters an environment of trust and inclusion; Provide staff coverage during evenings, weekends, and special events as determined by department & function need.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with one year of experience working in a sport/recreation environment, with particular emphasis in university recreation.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree with three years of professional work experience in Sports Clubs and/or Youth Camp programs, and experience in the development and execution of developmentally appropriate youth curriculum.
Special or Physical Qualifications:
Some weekend on-call responsibilities will be required.
