Upper Iowa University invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Campus Recreation. This position reports to the Director of Campus Recreation and is responsible for assisting in the leadership, management, administration, and oversight of all day-to-day operations and activities of campus recreation. Assist in the coordination, oversight, and maintenance of the master schedule of events for aquatics, intramurals, group fitness, personal training, and recreation center. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate management competency, and have experience supervising undergraduate student workers and other part-time personnel. In addition, the successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of a variety of group fitness class formats such as TRX, Bootcamp, kickboxing, water aerobics, and yoga as well as a proven ability to train new instructors to teach group fitness classes and provide continued skill enhancement training for certified instructors.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in the leadership and management of a recreational center, preferably in a University setting. Experience in human resource management along with the development of implementation of recreational programs. Experience working in an aquatics setting. Experience and certification in personal training and group fitness. Strong written and oral skills. Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration/Management, Kinesiology, or closely related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
