35% Intramural Sports Operations:
Develop annual Intramural calendar to maximize facility usage and participation opportunities; Manage all facets of the Intramural program; marketing, scheduling, rule creation and updates; Assist in the production and implementation of technology resources; Assist in the enforcement of administrative and operational policies and procedures; Implement best practices for league management and administration; Expand program offerings to meet the needs of the student community.
25% Personnel Management:
Direct supervision of Sport officials and Program Assistants; Recruit, hire, schedule, and train approximately 80 student officials annually; Administer extensive training and in-service meetings for all student staff; Assist in the day-to-day management of camp staff as needed.
20% Fiscal Management:
Oversee student payroll for assigned staff; Coordinate all equipment purchases, maintenance, and inventory related to intramural sports; Project annual operating budget for intramural sport programming; Maintain accurate fiscal records of all intramural team transactions; Track all personnel expenses related to intramural sport operations.
20% Program & Professional Involvement:
Provide feedback regarding departmental programs, equipment, and operations by conducting daily observations/engaging in programs and using equipment/facilities; Immediately report safety concerns to the functional area supervisor; Be active professionally through research, publications, presentations, speaking engagements, and involvement in professional associations; Represent University Recreation for various University/community functions, committee work, and other duties as assigned; Contribute positively to the work environment by participating in honest dialog that is indicative of the department’s culture of teamwork; Willingly shares all information with department teammates in an effort to provide high quality outcomes that contribute to student success; Maintains positive co-worker relationships and fosters an environment of trust and inclusion; Provide staff coverage during evenings, weekends, and special events as determined by department & function need.
Bachelor's degree in a related field with one year of experience working in a sport/recreation environment, with particular emphasis in university recreation.
Master's degree in a related field with three years of relevant work experience in Intramural Sports and High School Officiating and with knowledge of sport/event management.
Special or Physical Qualifications:
Ability to work flexible hours.
