The Director of Campus Sponsorship Activities supports the vision and mission of NIRSA through sponsorship enterprise activities in alignment with the NIRSA Services Corporation. NIRSA has partnered with Fluent to provide NIRSA members with opportunities for on-campus sponsorship activations around campus recreation and wellness programs. The Director will drive implementation of this program, recruiting NIRSA member participation, developing relationships with corporations, and working with Fluent to ensure delivery of sponsorships in line with NIRSA’s mission and vision.
Fluent is a dedicated college marketing agency, helping brands connect to universities by providing student experiences through campus engagement. Fluent’s goal is to provide rewarding student engagement and financial opportunities for universities, while helping brands understand the millennial generation. The Director is the primary liaison to both Fluent and participating NIRSA member institutions.
Both NIRSA and Fluent share the vision of bringing meaningful student engagement and significant remuneration to college campuses. The Director will liaise with Fluent and NIRSA members to accomplish this objective. The most important aspect of this position is the ability to build relationships and collaborate with a flexible approach that results in success.
This is a new partnership, and the Director of Campus Sponsorship Activities will provide leadership and oversee the development of this program in tandem with our partner, Fluent.
The Director is a high level manager providing leadership and performing tasks with creativity and integrity. The Director relies on extensive experience and professional judgment to serve as a liaison with NIRSA members and company executives to execute programs that accomplish the mutual goals of the association. The Director supports the NSC Board of Directors, working with the NIRSA executive and leadership teams on crucial issues related to this enterprise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Implement Sponsorship Activities on NIRSA member campuses: Responsible for all phases of implementation of sponsorship activities on NIRSA member campuses from establishing MOU’s through producing fulfillment reports.
Act as primary liaison between NIRSA and Fluent: The Director is responsible for collaborating with Fluent to ensure that activities are beneficial to the profession of campus recreation.
Identify potential revenue-producing sponsorship opportunities: Through relationships, networking and research, identify potential new opportunities for sponsorship activities. Maintain an active conversation with Fluent partners to surface opportunities as they arise.
Develop Relationships and Leverage Channel: Responsible for establishing a positive rapport with participating NIRSA members. The Director will facilitate NIRSA member engagement, establish benchmarks, set priorities, track satisfaction and report on the overall success of the campus activations with NIRSA members.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
10 years of progressive experience with client management
High emotional intelligence; able to translate sales experience for higher education clients
Translating the sales experience for clients
Proven success introducing new activities to unfamiliar audiences.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to influence and engage a wide range of volunteers and build long-term relationships.
Works independently with a high degree of discipline; excellent project management and time management skills; exceptional attention to detail.
Loves the challenge of meeting new people and winning them over, derives satisfaction from making a connection with another person.
Ability to forge consensus and influence change among individuals holding disparate opinions
Energetic, self-motivated, flexible and adaptable with a sense of humor.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical and organizations skills, capable of working effectively with board members, staff members, students, volunteers, consultants, and donor prospects.
Ability to work both independently without close oversight, but also a team player who will productively engage with others at varying levels of seniority within and outside NIRSA.
High energy and passion for NIRSA’s mission is essential.
Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred.
Relevant experience within the USA higher education recreational sports environment.
