The Assistant Director for Aquatics is responsible for the successful development of aquatic programs and management of aquatic facilities which include an indoor Olympic size pool and an outdoor pool and sun deck. This position hires, trains, schedules, supervises and evaluates all aquatic staff and develops, implements, and promotes aquatic programs to include: Learn to Swim Lessons, American Red Cross certification courses and Scuba Diving certification course. The Assistant Director of Aquatics has primary responsibility for establishing risk management procedures relevant to this functional area and conducting staff training regularly to review procedures. Additional responsibilities include: payroll processing, scheduling all activities and special events in the pool, and staff development. In addition to program duties, this individual is a vital member of a Campus Recreation team of professional staff and will assist in developing and facilitating the growth of recreational programs for the university community, promoting departmental programs, assisting with departmental special events and serving on university committees. This position is a member of the Campus Recreation Assistant Director Leadership Team and directly reports to the Associate Director of Programs.
