Our division passed a $236-million referendum to construct new facilities in March of 2014. All of our staff is involved in the design and construction of two new recreation centers, one new wellness center, and two new outdoor turf playfields. The Coordinator of Competitive Sports will assist in managing an Intramural Sports program with more than 58,000 annual participations across 30 activities, a Sport Clubs program with 44 clubs and 78,000 annual participations, and our outdoor recreation spaces including the Near West Playfields, to be completed this spring. The Coordinator will work directly with professional and student staff to plan activities, independently assess problems, and develop solutions.
We lead based on strengths and will provide opportunities for development. Professional development opportunities could include involvement with NIRSA, sports officials’ support, and other opportunities related to this person’s professional goals.
