1.Facility Management & Services Graduate Assistant:
Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, management and evaluation of the student facility and fitness center staff. This position will also assist with facility reservations and staffing for all events located in Bourgeois Hall.
2.Facility Maintenance Graduate Assistant:
Assist in maintaining and managing: equipment, inventory, and the building. Inspect all facilities to ensure that they are free of hazards and safe for patron activity for the following areas: 20,000 sq. ft. Fitness Center, Rockwall, 4 basketball courts, track, 2 Group X studios, 9 racquetball courts, outdoor tennis complex, and Intramural Sports fields.
3.Fitness Graduate Assistant Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Fitness Coordinator, this person is responsible for assisting in the planning, development and implementation of the personal training and group exercise programs. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: developing and conducting training sessions; recruiting, training, scheduling and evaluating student employees, and staff development; promoting the fitness center and group exercise classes; and assisting with student payroll, policy development, and the equipment inventory/purchasing process as necessary. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with campus wide special events, student services special events, and assist in all related administrative duties. A combined workload of 20 hours per week is expected. Evening and/or weekend hours may be required.
Fitness GA Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Sport Management, Recreation or related field with a minimum 3.0 GPA ; Admission into a UL Lafayette graduate program; Experience in teaching group exercise and/or personal training; professionalism; Must be certified in personal training or group exercise format with a nationally recognized certification; Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills; Current Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications (or able to obtain them within the first month of employment).
4.Marketing Graduate Assistant Responsibilities:
Under direction of the Professional Staff, the Marketing GA is responsible for assisting in hiring, training, scheduling, and managing student marketers and graphic designers as well as planning, developing, and implementing marketing and promotions for all recreational sports activities including: aquatics, club sports, facilities, fitness, intramurals, and outdoor trips. It is expected that applicants will possess an extensive knowledge of social media programs, trends, and marketing techniques.
