Two coordinator positions (40 week internships) are available: one in intramural sports and one in fitness programs.
Intramural Sports Coordinator
Work directly with the Assistant Director, Intramural Sports to develop and manage all daily operations and services of the intramural sports program
Assumes the administrative responsibility for the intramural sports student staff to include: supervisors, officials, scorekeepers, and program office assistants
Responsible for assisting in the planning and coordination of all staff training sessions
Provide feedback as well as end of semester performance evaluations on all student staff
Create and maintain weekly staff schedules using on-line scheduling software to ensure coverage and assume responsibility for filling in when necessary
Track, maintain and organize intramural sport participation statistics for annual report
Assist with basic web page updates
Coordinate all equipment management and maintenance, safety checks, and assist with other relevant risk management issues
Attend bi-weekly professional staff meetings and intramural sports staff meetings
Other duties as assigned
Fitness Programs Coordinator
Work directly with Assistant Director, Fitness Programs to develop and manage all daily operations and services of the fitness programs
Assume administrative responsibility for a set of staff (i.e. fitness support staff and fitness professionals)
Assist in the planning, coordination, and implementation of all staff trainings and meetings
Serve as Head Personal Trainer, who is responsible for assigning personal training clients, performing equipment orientation, collaborating on marketing efforts, mentoring students who are learning to be trainers, tracking programmatic goals/data, and managing the personal training budget
Provide feedback, as well as end of semester performance reviews to staff
Organize peer evaluations and video analysis of fitness professionals
Create and maintain staff schedules using on-line scheduling software
Track, maintain, and organize participation statistics for group fitness classes
Assist with basic web updates
Attend professional staff meetings and other training sessions
Opportunities to teach 1-3 group fitness classes and/or train 1-3 clients per a week
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, Physical Education, Health and Wellness or related field experience required.
Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.

Additional Salary Information:
The internships are 40-week appointments (August - Mid-May) with a salary of $22,000.
Incumbents will average 32-36 hours a week, including some evening and weekend responsibilities.
Additionally, professional development money may be available for travel to the NIRSA regional and national conferences.
All internships are one academic year contracts with the possible renewal for one additional year.

It offers 6 basketball/volleyball courts, 2 indoor running tracks, 7 racquetball courts, 2 squash courts, 6 lane-25 yard indoor pool, 6 indoor tennis/turf multipurpose courts, an ice rink, and three group exercise studios.
