East Stroudsburg University Recreation Center will be offering two (2) Graduate Assistantship Positions that include sports programming and fitness. Each position is a renewable, 20 hour per week, 9 month appointment.
Leagues (Intramurals) and Club Sports
The Graduate Assistant will gain on the job learning and experiences on how to organize and manage Leagues and Club Sports. The student will be directly responsible for assisting with the scheduling games, communicating with team captains, managing officials, developing club officers, coordinating travel and managing necessary paperwork.
The Graduate Assistant will gain on the job learning and experiences on how to organize and administer a comprehensive fitness program. The student will be responsible for assisting with group fitness classes, managing student personnel, aiding the operations of personal training program, and implementing wellness programs and initiatives.

Representatives from the Recreation Center will be at the NIRSA National Conference to discuss position duties and requirements outlined by the each Graduate program.
Acceptance into the
Any Graduate Program at ESU for the Leagues and Club Sports Position; OR
Exercise Science Program at ESU for the Fitness Position
Earned baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university
Maintain 3.0 GPA in Master’s Program at ESU
Maintain Current CPR, Fist Aid and AED Certification
Preferred experience in the recreation programming
Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Management, Administration or related field.
For Fitness Position: Certification in group fitness and/or personal training by ACE, AFAA, or ACSM.
Additional Salary Information: Compensation
In-State Tuition waiver for up to 9 credits in Fall and Spring
$2500 per semester. Student fees and books are not included.
