This is a professional position responsible for administering comprehensive facility management and customer service function within the Campus Recreation Department. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This is a security-sensitive position. Reports to the Director of Campus Recreation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates maintenance, custodial and office staff, graduate and undergraduate student employees.
2.Coordinates member service functions including program registration, locker rentals, towel service, laundry, lost & found, facility access rights, membership sales, equipment checkout, retail sales, etc.
3.Manages member management/point of sale software.
4.Coordinates facility tours.
5.Manages department’s birthday party program.
6.Manages the use of campus recreation facilities by the university’s summer camps.
7.Approves all facility reservation requests, ensures informal recreation opportunities, and seeks out facility rental revenue opportunities.
8.Creates and manages a comprehensive risk management and security program for the department, including EAP and security video surveillance.
9.Manages facility and member service budgets, purchases and equipment.
10.Serves as liaison with other campus departments, external vendors and the community.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Serves on departmental and university committees.
2.Coordinates and/or assists with special events and activities as necessary.
3.Works outside normal office hours and weekends, as required.
4.Performs other related duties as assigned.
