Plans, organizes, and oversees the implementation of all facets of a specified recreational program or set of programs, ensuring compliance with operational and policy requirements, and with appropriate federal, state, and local regulations, guidelines, and standards. Coordinates, schedules, and monitors the operation and maintenance of recreational facilities and/or equipment utilized in program activities; implements risk management policies and procedures. Guides, coordinates, and assists clients engaged in recreational activities regarding program policies and provisions, activity procedures and techniques, and facilities and equipment usage. Prepares and disseminates educational and informational materials relevant to specified program activities. Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises student recreational employees engaged in program activities. Maintains inventories of relevant materials and equipment; identifies and assesses inventory requirements, and makes and/or recommends purchases, as appropriate. Assists in the annual budget planning process and regularly monitors expenditures. Coordinates the scheduling of program activities, and makes decisions regarding postponements, cancellations, and/or other changes. Collects and analyzes data and statistical information pertaining to program activities, and prepares periodic and ad hoc reports; maintains a database management system. Serves as a liaison between students, faculty, staff, and other organizations within the community in relation to program and associated activities; facilitates seminars, meetings, special projects, and workshops, as appropriate. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
