Oversees and coordinates the operation of the Intramural Sports program. The Intramural Coordinator assists with supervising, scheduling and evaluating the intramural sports programs and encourages students, faculty and the staff to engage in these activities. Schedules tournaments, leagues and events. Assists in the interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating of student staff. Oversees the Student Life Intramural Committee. Develops and coordinates training of emergency procedures to student staff. Develop and enforce supervision guidelines for intramural games. Responsible for inspecting sports equipment, keeping track of playing equipment and supplies inventory, and reporting maintenance needs of facilities. Review existing program offering each year, evaluating program according to participation and cost. Stay updated with current NIRSA rules and review and assist with modifying playing rules for sports. Oversees the marketing and promotion of the intramural sports program. Responsible for evening supervision during intramural play. Develops group fitness programming to engage and promote a wellness initiative for the WNMU community. The position requires creative group fitness programming, including the design, delivery and assessment of group sessions in varied formats including strength, core, cardio, dance, water, step, boot camp, cycling, yoga, and Pilates. May include leading fitness classes and/or hiring instructors to fit within the budgetary confines of the department. Assists with the coordination of several major programmatic aspects of residential life including but not limited to the following: Facility Coordination, Resident Housing Association, RA Recruitment and Selection, RA Training/In-Service, Staff Recognition, Summer Conferences, and Marketing Supervises Resident Assistants Provides frequent formal and informal communication with Resident Assistants regarding their position responsibilities, personal well-being and academic progress. Incumbent is required to live on-campus in a staff apartment on a full-time 12-month basis and be available to respond on a 24 hour, 7-day per week basis. May supervise the work of student or other part-time employees, prepares work schedules, and assigns personnel to meet scheduled events. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. Facilitates a safe, comfortable, and positive environment in which students can achieve their academic and personal goals. Addresses facility issues immediately and thoroughly that compromise the health and/or safety of the residents. Completes various reports, forms, and other documents as needed. Assists with the implementation of the Comprehensive Programming model. Additional duties may be assigned such as: student clubs advisor-assists with student leadership development. To include student leader training, supervision, assistance and guidance.
