Faculty Position: The University of Iowa, Department of Health and Human Physiology, Health and Physical Activity Skills Program: Assistant in Instruction. The non-tenure track position is for the fiscal year 2017-2018 renewable for a total of three years (2018-2020) and renewable thereafter in three year increments pending collegiate approval and demonstrated excellence in teaching. Duties of this position include teaching a variety of physical activity skills courses (examples include softball, cardio training, and lap swimming); developing and revising curriculum for HPAS courses, and developing new HPAS courses.
A BA/BS degree in a field related to Recreation and Sport Studies, Health Promotion, Physical Education, or Health and Human Physiology, orwith an equivalent combination of relevant education, certifications, and work experience. Experience in teaching or leading physical activity skills, physical education, or sport skills programs, and excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary. CPR/AED certification necessary before the first day of class. American College of Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Association, or equivalent certification, as well as excellent time management and organizational skills are desirable.
