The Assistant Director for Intramural Sports is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive Intramural Sports program at UT Arlington (a large and diverse university). 1. Administer comprehensive intramural sports leagues and events, which include 17 team sports and 27 individual and dual sports for men’s women’s and co-recreational participation. 2. Plan and conduct departmental and campus wide special events 3. Review and revise departmental policies and procedures 4. Hire, schedule, supervise, and train around 100 student intramural sports staff 5. Manage assessment including surveys, student learning outcomes, and goals and objectives 6. Serve on campus committees 7. Keep up with trends and best practices in intramural sports and modify intramural offerings as needed 8. Performs other duties assigned.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies, Business Administration or related field and four years of professional experience or experience in sport officiating; or a Master’s degree in Recreation, Exercise Science, or a related field and two years of professional experience. Experience will include strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, management experience, PC and/or MAC computer skills. Knowledge of the principles of sports officiating.
Preferred qualifications: Master’s Degree, NIRSA Certification, CPR and First Aid Certification, Sport Officiating Background, Management of Sports Programming
