Loyola Marymount University’s Division of Student Affairs has an immediate opening for an Assistant Director of Campus Recreation (Fitness and Wellness). The Assistant Director will organize a wide range of events and services to meet the recreational needs of the LMU community and administer the fitness and wellness program, which includes a comprehensive fitness class schedule, wellness programs, fitness fairs, and the supervision of personal trainers and fitness instructors.
We seek candidates who typically a Master’s Degree in Recreation Administration, Leisure Management, Physical Education, Sports Administration, College Personnel Services, or related field preferred. Two (2) years demonstrated practical experience working in the development of fitness programs, management of a fitness facility and supervision of fitness personnel. Experience with student development and personnel management is required. Practical experience working within an institution of Higher Education preferred. We are also seeking candidates that have fitness/ wellness program development and management experience. Successful candidates are required to keep up-to-date with regional and national trends by becoming actively involved in community, regional, and national organizations associated with campus recreation. We are also seeking candidates that have excellent interpersonal skills. Must be a certified fitness instructor with the ability to teach a variety of fitness classes and maintain certification as a Personal Trainer.
