This position exists to (1) provide operational oversight, management, marketing and leadership for the Summer Conference Housing Program; (2) provide evening and weekends operational oversight, management, and leadership for the Student Union; (3) provide event support for SUES events; and (4) provide leadership recruitment and marketing for the summer intern housing program for the Student Union and Event Services department. Reservable on-campus guest accommodations include summer group accommodations in traditional residence hall rooms.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring efficient Student Union Game Room operations
Monitoring daily operations to ensure compliance with department, facility and university policy and procedures
Selecting, training, supervising and evaluating student staff working the Game Room and as a part of Facility operations
Observing and resolving risk management and safety issues and providing 24/7 emergency on-call response as necessary
Serves as a liaison between Student Union custodial and Student Affairs Maintenance in ensuring safe, clean and well-maintained spaces are available for guests of the facility
Ensuring efficient (summer) front desk and room preparation operations during guest check-in and check-out process
Facilitation of contracted guest services for conference groups
Assisting Conference & Event Coordinator(s) with pre-event and conference housing meetings to meet client expectations
Selecting, training, supervising and evaluating student staff working (summer) front desk and room preparation capacities
Monitoring daily Summer Conference Housing operations to ensure compliance with department, facility and university policy and procedures
Assisting with marketing and outreach for Conference Housing operations; and providing 24/7 emergency on-call response as necessary.
Marketing and leadership within Summer Conference Housing includes outreach to businesses and organizations; creating a comprehensive marketing program in conjunction with other SUES staff; increasing numbers and revenues from this function and creating value-added services.
During the summer, this position is responsible for the direct supervision of 15-30 Summer Conference Housing student staff. This includes selection, supervision, training, evaluation and development. During the summer season, this position will serve as the liaison between Residential Life Facilities, AVS contracted housing, CMS contracted custodial services and Student Affairs Maintenance in ensuring safe, clean and well-maintained guest rooms are provided to clients. During the academic year, this position will be responsible for directly supervising student employees in the Game Room and supervising the work of Facility Managers and Information Desk staff.
This position must be fulfilled with ability to work evenings and weekends.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (Master’s preferred)
Minimum of 2 years post-bachelor’s professional experience in conference housing, facility operations or scheduling required.
Student selection, training, supervision and evaluation experience preferred.
Experience in hotel/hospitality management, supervision, event planning and contract negotiation in a College or University environment preferred.
Outcomes assessment and analysis experience preferred.
Crisis Management/Emergency response and on-call/duty experience preferred
