Loyola University Chicago is excited to announce the opening of a new position ! We are now hiring for a Program Coordinator of Intramural Sports and Student Development .
The position will be responsible for the administration of the Intramural Sports program and will also take a large role in our department in the areas of student development, risk management and some minor marketing. This is a great position for both new and experienced professionals who are looking to make a large impact on students through programming and have responsibilities in various areas of Campus Rec.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the design, implementation, coordination, and the general supervision of Campus Rec's Intramural program which has both traditional and non-traditional sports, as well as officiated and self-officiated sports. The Program Coordinator plans, organizes, implements and evaluates all intramural leagues, tournaments, and intramural special events. The Program Coordinator sets program procedures and approves activities/schedules. This position will facilitate the scheduling of space for intramural activities, work with the marketing team to ensure these programs are effectively marketed to the Loyola community. In addition this position will design and prepare the annual program budget for all of the IMs groups. This position will recruit, train, schedule and evaluates student staff, student intramural officials and support staff. The Program Coordinator will implement programs/processes to measure development of the students and the officials. This position will provide a quality control system for maintaining high safety standards. The Program Coordinator is responsible for all risk management policies and duties pertinent to program participants and student staff. The Program Coordinator will establish policies and procedures to reduce general liability and ensures all staff is appropriately trained and certified. This position will manage the sports equipment and supervision of programming on evenings and weekends. The Program Coordinator will performs administrative duties as needed such as completing program reports, incident reports, and other documentation. This position will be responsible for administrative duties such as manage student payroll, track overall payroll expenses, oversee payroll requirements for new hires and promotions, web site development, marketing, and represent the office at various campus, division, and community functions, as assigned.
This position will also focus on overall department student staff development and training, assisting in training of our 150 student employees.Will assist in staff recognition and overall staff retention.Coordinator will implement and advise a Campus Recreation Student Advisory Board.
Coordinator may assist in supervision on outdoor experiences and special events
Coordinator will assist in assessment of department and integration of software for management of programs
Program coordinator will assist in general departmental marketing in areas such as social media, orientations and recruitment events
Performs other duties as assigned.
-Bachelor Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Administration/Management, Business, or a closely related field -Master Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Administration/Management, Business, or a closely related field is preferred -Previous experience in intramural sports training and risk management protocols -The ability to work effectively with diverse groups -Experience working with college aged students
