The University of Iowa is seeking qualified candidates for an Assistant Director of Aquatics in Recreational Services.
The Assistant Director of Aquatics will assist in the programming and operation of Recreational Services Aquatics programs and facilities. This position has primary responsibility for developing and implementing aquatic programs that include the Lifeguard program, Swim Lesson Program, American Red Cross certification courses, staff safety trainings, and pool parties.
Additional responsibilities include special event management and administration of aquatic facilities at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center, Field House, and University Club. These facilities include an indoor 50-meter competition pool, separate diving well, leisure pool, 50-yard lap pool, and an outdoor pool. This position is responsible for hiring, training, supervising, evaluating, and monitoring aquatic certification records for the hourly Aquatics staff of approximately 100 part-time employees.
This position directly reports to the Associate Director of Aquatics.

Salary and Benefits:
$40,000 to commensurate

Current certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor (LGI), and American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI).
