The Business Development, Marketing and Events Manager, champions the OPERS brand, building awareness and promoting understanding of the brand within OPERS, across the enterprise and to key target audiences. S/he is responsible for shaping and managing varied and multi-faceted brand marketing efforts, programs, and initiatives working with strategic partners on the campus and across University. His/her efforts ensure the success of OPERS.
Technical leader with a high degree of knowledge in the overall field and recognized expertise in specific areas; problem-solving frequently requires analysis of unique issues / problems without precedent and / or structure. May manage programs that include formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources; functions with a high degree of autonomy.
Uses advanced marketing concepts to create, develop, implement and manage comprehensive promotional marketing and sales strategies / plans, including short and long-range strategic planning. Responsibilities include comprehensive promotion and advertising and / or market research activities. Projects and / or programs are typically complex and require a high degree of technical marketing expertise. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Advanced knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, techniques and applications relevant to the field of promotion and advertising.

Ability to effectively supervise a diverse staff.
Two years of successful experience in facility operations, student activities, student development, programming or event management on a University campus.
Demonstrated excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to independently manage a variety of projects with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities, to organize a continuous flow of work in a timely manner and meet mandatory deadlines.
Ability to create new and original events and programs in order to expand offerings and meet changing community needs.
In-depth understanding and past experience in marketing and the sponsorship industry
Knowledge of special events programming and the ability to plan, organize, supervise, and manage events while performing multiple task simultaneously to achieve Department goals and standards.
