Responsible for assisting in the coordination, administration, and evaluation of the Intramurals and Sport Clubs programs. Other duties will be assigned as necessary. The individual will also assist with the supervision of the Recreational Sports Center and assist with planning and coordinating special events other duties as assigned. Intramurals: Assist with the organization and administration of comprehensive Intramural Sports Programs. Manage daily administration of program activities, including correspondence with student staff and program participants. Promote, market, schedule, and evaluate team and individual/dual sports. Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate student supervisors, officials and score/stat keepers. Conduct rule meetings for Intramural team captains and participants. Assist in program evaluation and development of rules, policies and procedures. Management and maintenance of indoor/outdoor sports equipment and fields. Supervise Intramural Season/tournament events for various sports. Use Ipads for day to day operations such as staff clock in sheets, completing all Intramural forms etc. Manage roster and liability form system for Intramurals. Update the website for assigned activities. Sport Clubs: Assist with the organization and administration of comprehensive Sport Clubs programs. Produce daily reports for Sport Clubs activities, including correspondence with student staff and Sport Clubs officer/participants. Promote, market, recruit, schedule, and evaluate the Sport Clubs program. Train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate student staff. Conduct Sport Clubs Council Meetings and advisor, president and officer trainings. Assist in program evaluation and development of clubs, policies and procedures. Update Sport Clubs Points System. Research & development of new Sport Clubs. Schedule practices/matches for Sport Clubs. Maintain indoor/outdoor facilities. Use Ipads for practice/game operations such as staff clock in sheets, confirming club rosters, completing all club forms forms etc. Manage roster, liability, and all travel form systems for Sport Clubs. Supervisor: The individual will work under the supervision of the Coordinator of Intramural & Sport Clubs and the Associate Director of Programs for Recreational Sports. Hours: Up to 19.5 hours per week. Must be available during weekend and nights for Intramural & Club events.
Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport Management, or related field. Any offer for employment is contingent upon full acceptance and enrollment in Graduate School at Lamar University. Graduate students must maintain a 3.0 GPA and be in good standing with the university. CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred. Experience and involvement in NIRSA also preferred. Must have graduated with an undergrad GPA of at least 2.8.

Additional Salary Information: Compensation: The position is a $13,500 stipend for (9.5 months) with $1,000 scholarship per fall and $1,000 scholarship per spring for tuition only. Out of State tuition waiver is competitively granted. Professional development stipend (pending funding). Each position begins August 1, 2018 and concludes May 17, 2019. There is an opportunity for summer employment (hourly). There is the opportunity to renew the graduate assistantship for a second year.
