The Program Coordinator of Fitness is primarily located at the Tempe location of ASU; however, the successful candidate will serve as an integral member of the university level Fitness which aids in facility management as well as overall development of student employees at all locations. The position will oversee all growth and development of student personal training staff as well as related services and programs. The position is also responsible for assisting with EOSS initiatives and Spirit, Pride and Tradition as it applies to Sun Devil Fitness and to the position.

$35,000 - $36,000 per year; DOE
Integral in professional development of student staff
Partner with other student services and academic units in developing intentional student experiences
Innovate and use current fitness trends to reach student populations of all ability levels
Create new program offerings that are deliverable to students in a multitude of ways
Responsible for the development, marketing and evaluating of fitness programs and services based on student priorities
Oversight of weight room equipment and maintenance
Recruit, hire, train schedule and evaluate fitness staff
Responsible for managing the fitness and personal training assessment center
Develop policies and procedures
Maintain records, prepare and analyze statistical reports, evaluations, participant surveys, and data
Prepare budget and fee recommendations
Serve on campus committees and other duties as assigned
Participate in outreach efforts promoting ASU traditions and institutional pride within campus recreation and the ASU Community
Job location is primarily at the Tempe Campus; however the successful candidate may be required to travel to other ASU campuses to perform work.
Days and Schedule:
Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm; may include extended hours, some weekend and evening required.
Bachelor's degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Six years of progressively responsible administrative/coordinator program experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Evidence of a Master’s degree in related field
Experience training and evaluating student employees
Evidence of programming experience or involvement
Experience with Risk Management practices
Evidence of a current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
Evidence of a current American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid Instructor Certification
Work in a fast-paced environment.
Sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to lift 35 lbs.
Walk throughout campus to make deliveries, regardless of the weather.
