Assist with the development and implementation of ongoing leadership curriculum for Intramural Staff, Club Sports officers, and Club Sports Council Executive Officers. This responsibility includes the annual New Officer Conference – a training program to introduce new peer elected officers to the responsibilities of Club management. Oversee the Executive Officers through trainings, evaluation and feedback. Advise and counsel the Club Sports Council which is composed of students from the 20+ club sports. Developing all active club sports teams through assisting them with hosting home matches and tournaments, facilitating use of UREC and non-UREC facilities for practices and matches, Assist with travel details for off-campus competitions, provide advice, feedback and assistance for individual team management and development of diverse Club Sports teams. Developing and maintaining a comprehensive statistical report for both the intramural and club sport activities. Working to distribute funds equally and fairly to the club teams. Assists with recruitment, hiring, training, supervising, scheduling, evaluating, and overseeing student programmers, supervisors, officials and scorer/timers for the Intramural & Club Sports program. Assists with the organization and execution of programming for intramural sports. Working directly with the overseeing of a summer day camp program for children of the high country. This includes staff recruitment, hiring, training, evaluating, supervising and scheduling summer student counselors, programmers and professional staff. Budget management for the summer camp program. Market both the Intramural & Club Sports Programs through working with students to develop newsletters, accurate social media activity, develop new and trending ways of exposing the Intramural & Club Sports programs to on-campus activity as well as informing the AppState community of the Intramural & Club Sports activities – both competitive and non-competitive events. Market the Camp UREC program to full time and part time residents of the high country through the development of marketing materials to include flyers, brochures, website updates, and other marketing means. Directly oversee and handle day-to-day operation, to include but not limited to programming, scheduling of facility, hiring of staff, and supervision and evaluation of all staff, and all camp participants for the period of May 11-August 11 for CAMP UREC. Assist with the direct supervision of all Intramural Sports events held on campus and in the Boone area. Evaluate student employees on a regular basis with the purpose of developing the skills and experiences of each student employee as well as maintaining program quality. Provide Medical Training Courses (serve as instructor) to all UREC student employees in the areas of CPR/AED, First Aid, BBP, etc.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree required/master’s preferred along with one or more years of experience working in the College Student Affairs field. Experience working with Intramural & Club Sports programs at the collegiate level and advising, managing, supervising student leaders directly involved with Competitive Sports. Experience working with youth and providing age appropriate activities for a day camp setting. Good time management is a must. Ability to evaluate playing conditions due to weather and determine necessary action. Maintain CPR/AED, First-Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens Instructor Certifications in order to serve as an instructor for UREC.

The Student Recreation Center (SRC):
The SRC includes a total square footage of approx. 125,000 sq. ft.. Features in the SRC include a smoothie bar, a 50 ft. climbing wall, a cardio room, a weight room area, an indoor walking/jogging track, a 50M swimming pool, UREC Central Offices, and the Outdoor Outing Center. Two gymnasiums used for Intramural activities, Club Sports, as well as Informal use (freeplay). The SRC opened in April 2006 and is home to Intramural Sports, Club Sports, Aquatics, Fitness, Outdoor Programs, and Informal Recreation.
