Coordinator - Facilities and Leadership
The Coordinator for Facilities and Leadership is primarily responsible for managing the daily operations of Rec Sports satellite facilities, which include the Penberthy Rec Sports Complex, Physical Education Activity Program Building, and Omar Smith Tennis Courts. All satellite facilities are used regularly for open recreation activities, intramural sports, sport clubs, Health and Kinesiology classes, events hosted by student organizations and university departments, as well as programs sponsored by the Athletic Department and Experience Bryan College Station, the local convention and visitor’s bureau. This position is responsible for the hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating 60+ student personnel who oversee the operations of the satellite facilities. This position requires oversight of equipment operations and inventory, utilization of Fusion member management software, and the administration of the satellite facilities budget. In addition, this position will assist with the coordination of special events for student, university and external groups. The Coordinator for Facilities and Leadership will be largely responsible for providing leadership and development to student success programs throughout the entire department, impacting 1,000+ student staff members each year. Specifically, this entails the facilitation of student development training sessions, as well as the organization of the annual All Staff Student Training.
Coordinator - Fitness and Wellness
The Fitness and Wellness Coordinator will have primary oversight of specialty fitness classes, wellness initiatives, management of the massage therapy program, developing new initiatives for fitness and wellness programming, and responding to customer requests for satellite fitness programs from student organizations, university departments, and community groups. This includes program design and implementation, staff hiring and supervision, assessment, and interacting with the marketing staff to promote the fitness program. The specialty class program currently consists of 15-20 classes each semester, including a variety of dance classes, yoga, pilates, and self-defense. This staff member will also be our department’s primary point of contact for Wellness Works!, the university’s official employee wellness program. Additionally, this staff member will be expected to instruct either group exercise or specialty classes and work with special events.
Coordinator - Personal Training and Small Group Training
The Personal Training and Small Group Training Coordinator is responsible for managing our Personal Training and Small Group Training Programs. They are responsible for client acquisition, assigning personal trainers to clientele, and small group training coaches to formats/program offerings. Daily management of personal and small group training records and databases also falls under this position’s purview. The Personal and Small Group Training Coordinator is responsible for the creation, development, and implementation of new offerings for the Personal and Small Group Training programs. They are also charged with optimizing the programming and utilization of the Personal and Small Group Training Suite facility. They are responsible for the hiring, training, evaluating, and supervision of both Personal Trainers, and Small Group Training Coaches. Assists with the training and education of Strength & Conditioning area student and part-time staff members, and coordinates clinics, seminars, and workshops for area staff and Rec Center members. Coordinates and instructs the Personal Training Certification Prep Course. Will potentially personal train clients and lead small group training sessions as warranted. Prepares and administers the wages, equipment, and supplies budget for personal training and small group training programs. Assists with risk management, equipment and facility preventative maintenance, cleanliness, and upkeep.
The minimum qualifications for the anticipated positions are:
1) Bachelors degree with one or more years full-time related experience
2) Masters degree with no full-time experience
