The RSF Rec. Coordinator for Club Sports, Intramurals and Camps is a critical position for Recreational Sports and Fitness. It has 3 main units with ties to the rest of RSF and with multiple units on campus. This position supervises Intramural Sports, Club Sports and the Bobcat Summer Youth Camp. These are all comprehensive programs that will need to be budgeted, scheduled, managed and evaluated. There is a very large student staff that will need to be managed and we are looking for a quality individual that has experience in Teamwork, Communication, Passion and Energy to lead these programs.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversight of a comprehensive Intramural Sports program. Includes scheduling, training supervisors and officials, budgeting and liaise with multiple departments including facility operations.
Oversight of a Club Sports program of approximately 30 +/- teams. Teaching and mentoring the Club Sport groups, coaches and advisors to help the clubs be successful and sustainable.
Oversight of the Summer Youth Camp. Hiring/training summer camp staff, scheduling, budgeting and coordinating with multiple campus departments. Employee is expected to attend workshops/clinics including safety and risk sessions. Camp operations training will be provided.
Oversight of 2-3 Graduate Assistants. Hire, train, evaluate and mentor Graduate Assistants who will be used to administer all the programs listed above.
Screening of applicants will begin on March 19, 2018; applications will continue to be accepted until an adequate applicant pool has been established.
Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Management, Business, Sport Science or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education.
Experience working with/in recreation in a higher education setting.
Successful management experience in planning, budgeting, hiring staff training, scheduling, and ordering equipment.
Master’s degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sports Management, Business, or Sport Science.
Significant experience working and collaborating with University/Municipal/Private recreation organizations.
Additional certifications or workshops such as Camp Liability, Lifeguard, CPR/AED.
Experience working and administering youth camps.
Current certification in CPR/AED or the ability to obtain the certifications within three months of hire (in-house training is available).
Software experience with “IM Leagues”.
Additional Salary Information: Commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications.
