UW is seeking a Facility Operations Manager (Manager, Maintenance) to assist in the oversight of the day-to-day operations of Campus Recreation facilities including the Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center, Corbett Gym and Pool and the Recreation Fields.
Essential duties include:
Provide the main oversight of facility operations, work orders, and facility maintenance during weekday evening hours. Serves as first responder regarding facility issues and emergencies.
Oversee all in-house and contracted maintenance to ensure proper upkeep, cleaning, storage, and inventory of all equipment/supplies. Assist with the research and purchase of equipment for the facility. Manage equipment software system and preventative maintenance plan for all equipment within the Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center. Maintain an equipment replacement schedule for all exercise equipment. Work directly with equipment manufacturers and sales representatives on equipment maintenance and repair issues.
Coordinate the hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of five student equipment technicians. Assist in the hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of 50+ facility operations student staff and Graduate Assistants. Lead training workshops and conduct monthly staff meetings. Assist with safety training and certifications for departmental student staff.
Responsible for all facility rentals and scheduling for Campus Recreation facilities. Assist in the management of the scheduling software system; including rental policies, risk management guidelines, and fees. Coordinate the setup and breakdown of Campus Recreation program and rental events, including classroom technology setup and maintenance.
Oversee fiscal management of all equipment, supplies, and personnel for the day-to-day operations of the Half Acre Recreation and Wellness Center. Collaborate with Business Manager to procure necessary equipment according to University policy.
Associate Degree and 4 years of comparable experience working in a recreational center.
First Aid/CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain within 3 months.
Knowledge of commercial exercise equipment repair and maintenance.
Experience in facility operations.
Excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication.
