Position Summary: Educational Opportunity Programs. The Director supervises the TRIO Student Support Services program designed to assist program participants in succeeding at Georgia Southern University.
Supports students of varying backgrounds, first-generation, low socioeconomic, and other underrepresented groups.
Organizes academic and other activities designed to improve the persistence, retention, and graduation rates for participants.
Coordinates program services, activities, workshops, and special events.
Monitors the academic progress and social development of program participants.
Markets and publicizes program activities to stakeholders.
Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates program staff.
Provides fiscal oversight of program budgets and prepares federal, state, and institutional reports.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.
Preferred Experience:: Five or more years of administrative management experience and three or more years of managing a student learning support program.
