The UMass Lowell Club Sport and Business Operations Intern will report directly to the Assistant Director for Club Sports and Business Operations. The intern’s role will be to assist with the day-to-day management of the Club Sport program and assist with departmental business efforts.
Maintain Club Sport and Individual Team Websites 25%
Assure general content, team rosters, schedules, results, contacts and photo galleries are accurate and up to date
Manage Student Staff 15%
Schedule, train, supervise and evaluate Club Sport student staff
Oversee Club Sport Marketing Efforts 15%
Create and distribute content for weekly Club Sports upcoming games flyer
Design Club Sport monthly newsletter
Manage Club Sport Twitter and Instagram handles
Work with student graphic designers as a liaison to create Club Sports print materials as needed for club teams
Support Assistant Director with Department Business Operations 15%
Assist with paying vendors
Assist with implementation of new accounting systems
Work closely with A.D. on oversite of department budgets
Game Day Management and Operations 10%
Assist with game day management of assigned home contests
Assist with facility scheduling for club practices, games and events
Manage IMLeagues Club Sports Administration 5%
Approve and review Club Sport participant paperwork and forms daily
Maintain Team Photo and Video Collection 5%
Assist with gathering team photos, game photos and video to be used in Club Sport marketing and social media
Instruct CPR/AED/First Aid Classes to Campus Recreation Staff 5%
Other Duties as Assigned 5%
The Club Sport and Business Operations Intern will directly report to the Assistant Director for Club Sports and Business Operations.
The Club Sport and Business Operations Intern supervises the activities and work performance of designated part-time personnel.
Qualifications: 1. Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in related field. 2. Previous experience in sports and recreation programs or facilities.
Familiarity with current trends and practices within the recreational sports profession.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to relate effectively with students.
Willingness to learn Campus Recreation business operations functions.
Previous club sport participation or supervision.
Previous business operations or business curriculum experience.
Experience using IMLeagues and Trideon softwares.
Regular nights and weekends are required. Professional development stipend provided.
Salary and Compensation
30 hours/week; July 15 – May 15
Business hours with some nights and weekends $20,000 broken down into: $12,000 stipend + $8,000 on-campus housing credit

The Department of Campus Recreation at the University of Massachusetts Lowell is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Outdoor and Bicycle Programs Intern. This internship is designed to help qualified candidates build focused experience to pursue a career in outdoor and bicycle related university programming. This is a 12-month, 30 hour per week, entry-level position.
