Job Purpose: Serve as primary coordinator/facilitator of all operations of the Campus Recreation Center (CRC) while open for use during evening hours and on weekends. Areas of involvement include customer service, equipment operation, safety and building access.
Monitor CRC operations during assigned shifts; respond to service related issues as appropriate.
Staff and oversee performance of CRC student assistants during assigned shifts in providing customer service and efficient operations.
Monitor building access controls and security; respond to conditions as appropriate.
Communicate and coordinate operations with other CRC management and staff.
Prepare and submit scheduled reports.
Oversee assigned aspects of special events held in CRC.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Additional Information: This position's work schedule is 10:00 am - 7:00 pm, Monday - Friday and subject to change based on needs of the department
Impact & Influence: This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Campus Recreation Complex (CRC) and facility management and staff, student assistants and CRC members. This position typically will advise and counsel: student assistants. This position will supervise: NA.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Recreation, Physical Education or related field.
Work Experience: Two to four years job related experience
Skills: This job requires basic knowledge of the operations of and services provided through a large recreational complex including those related to customer service, equipment operation, facilities management and administration. Skills in communication, service delivery and conflict resolution are required as are use of office related computer applications.
Preferred Education: Master's Degree
Preferred Work Experience: N/A
Preferred Certifications: First Aid, CPR and AED Instructor Certification.
Preferred Skills: Application of required skills within a university recreational complex is preferred. Customer service, conflict resolution, and student & part-time employee supervision. Possess a working knowledge and understanding of Multicultural Competency and ability to develop learning outcomes and assessment reports.
